About Our Chapter

About the Chapter

The Society of Catholic Priests’ Annunciation chapter is composed of priests serving the Dioceses of Huron and Niagara, in Southwestern Ontario. The chapter is affiliated with the North American province of the Society of Catholic Priests. We are clerics of the Anglican Church of Canada who observe the charisms of catholic spirituality in personal and parochial life, in alignment with the SCP’s Rule of Life.

Our Mission

Our purpose is to promote catholic evangelism and spirituality, offer collegial support to clergy working in the Dioceses of Huron and Niagara, to pray for the Church and its work in the world, and to serve the needs of our dioceses through faith formation and developing resources to support prayer, sacramental participation, and loving service to our neighbours.

Chapter History

The formation of the chapter was inspired by fellowship and conversations undertaken at the 2024 SCP North American Provincial Conference, held at St. Paul’s Carroll St, in Brooklyn, NYC. Our founding members, drawing strength and wisdom from the Christ-centred liturgies and powerful keynote addresses, felt it was time to collaborate and provide an outlet for clerics expressing Catholic charisms to find community and mutual support in Southwestern Ontario. The chapter’s first meeting was held in March 2025, at the parish of St. John the Evangelist, Hamilton. We look forward to developing Annunciation’s identity through worship, prayer, and faith formation.
